However, the proper maintenance and regular cleaning of water storage tanks and sumps can effectively control these issues.
Manual Cleaning Process
The manual cleaning process involves three stages:
- Cleaning the tank thoroughly.
- Disinfecting the tank with chlorine for 12 to 24 hours.
- Checking the residual chlorine concentration, ensuring it remains at 0.5mg/l.
While this method is effective, it does have some drawbacks, including its time-consuming nature and water wastage in the cleaning process.
Scientific Cleaning process
Our preferred method, the scientific cleaning process, involves a comprehensive approach to ensure thorough cleanliness and minimal water wastage. The steps include:
- High-pressure motor jet cleaning of the tank caps and surroundings.
- Dewatering the tank and removing sludge with a sludge pump.
- Eliminating algae and other substances from the tank's ceiling and walls.
- Using a vacuum sucker machine to remove tiny particles from the ceiling.
- Sterilizing the tank with a safe anti-bacterial agent to disinfect all surfaces.
- Treating the tank with ozone or ultraviolet rays for complete removal of microbial bacteria, if any.
- Cleaning the tank thoroughly.
This scientific cleaning process not only saves time but also reduces water wastage significantly.
In the past, water tanks and sumps were often cleaned by untrained and unprofessional daily laborers using unhygienic broom sticks and scrubbers.
